Rupee strengthens against dollar in interbank market

Karachi: The rupee continues to appreciate against the dollar in the interbank market, but there was no change in the dollar value in the open market.

According to despite the demand in the economy and increasing import requirements, the rupee continued to strengthen against the dollar in the interbank market on Friday, while the dollar remained stable in the open market for the second day.

The dollar continued to depreciate during most of the trading period in the interbank market, due to which the dollar value fell by 18 paisa to Rs 280.93 at one point.

Due to the increase in import demand during the trading period, the dollar value closed at Rs 281.10 at the end of the trading period, down by just one paisa.

On the other hand, the dollar value in the open currency market remained stable at Rs 282.15 without any change.
