Interesting conversations between judges and lawyers during the hearing of the super tax case

Islamabad: There were interesting discussions between judges and lawyers during the hearing of the super tax case, but the hearing was adjourned until tomorrow.

A 5-member constitutional bench of the Supreme Court heard the case related to the super tax, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan. During the hearing, Farogh Naseem, a lawyer for various companies, presented his arguments.

Lawyer Farogh Naseem took the position that the tax cannot be implemented after the stipulated date. On this occasion, Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar inquired why this matter could not be clarified till today? Every time the same issue comes up for discussion again.

Justice Jamal Mandokhel remarked that in addition to sales tax, other taxes can also be imposed in the NFC award. On his point, lawyer Farogh Naseem said that no new tax can be implemented after the stipulated time.

An interesting situation arose during the hearing when Justice Jamal Mandokhel smiled and said to Farogh Naseem, “I will butter you, you are giving very good arguments.” To this, Farogh Naseem replied emphatically, “I will butter you too, I have not seen such a good hearing till date.”

During the hearing, Justice Aminuddin Khan said that there is a lot of pressure on judges, while lawyer Farogh Naseem took the position that no judge has the authority to disrespect a lawyer. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar and Justice Shahid Bilal Hassan always showed patience and forbearance.

Another lawyer, Hafiz Ehsan Khokhar, took the position that the lawyer expects the judges to listen to his arguments with respect and dignity.

Later, the Supreme Court adjourned the hearing of the case until 9:30 am tomorrow, in which lawyer Farogh Naseem will continue his arguments.
