Preparations for initial delimitation at the union council level in Punjab begin

The Election Commission has started the preparation of preliminary delimitation at the level of union councils in Punjab under the schedule issued by the Election Commission, which will continue till October 31.

According to the schedule issued by the ECP, the appointment and training of delimitation officers and delimitation committees, purchase of maps and other arrangements have been completed by October 12.

The preparation of the list of preliminary delimitation by the committees began on October 13 and will be completed by October 31.

The lists will be displayed on November 1 and objections to them will be accepted until November 16, while objections will be resolved by December 1. The final publication of the delimitation will be on December 8.

In addition, the commission has also established 11 delimitation authorities to resolve the objections of voters, along with 41 delimitation committees formed at the level of union councils.

The Election Commission has also banned any changes to the boundaries of local governments, including metropolitan corporations and district councils, until the completion of delimitation in Punjab.
