China’s electromagnetic launcher-equipped aircraft carrier Fujian has successfully completed another milestone in its take-off and landing test of fighter jets using its electromagnetic launcher (EMALS).
According to the international news agency, China has maintained its uniqueness in the production of warships with the revolutionary invention of its latest technology aircraft carrier Fujian.
The photos released by the Chinese military show three different aircraft, the latest J-35T stealth fighter jet, the J-15T fighter jet and the KG-600 early warning aircraft.
According to officials, all of these aircraft were able to successfully take off and land from the deck of Fujian using the electromagnetic launcher.
China’s official newspaper Global Times quoted the Ministry of Defense as saying that Fujian’s successful test is an important milestone in the construction and expansion of the country’s aircraft carrier fleet.
Military experts say the success is a sign that China has now made its aircraft carriers practically capable of advanced operations.
Analysts say EMALS technology will allow fighter jets to fly with greater weight and fuel, which will further expand the operational range of the Fujian.
With the help of this advanced technology, China will have the opportunity to expand its reach into remote areas of the western Pacific.
Chinese state media described the development as a success with profound implications for the balance of power in the region.
A former state editor called the Fujian “another blow to the West” and a manifestation of “China’s revolutionary military development.”
Experts also say that once the Fujian is fully operational, China will have all five major capabilities, including air surveillance, maritime control, attacks on land targets, electronic warfare and anti-submarine operations.
