Islamabad: Uzbekistan and Pakistan are set to open a new chapter of cooperation in the textile sector following an important meeting between Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Pakistan, H.E. Aybek Arif Usmanov Sirojiddinovich (Ali Siro Tuktayev) and Secretary General of the All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA), Mr. Shahid Sattar.
During the meeting, both sides agreed to expand partnerships between leading textile companies of the two countries, enhance collaboration in marketing, and exchange knowledge, technology, and expertise. They also discussed the establishment of joint ventures and explored opportunities for managing or acquiring enterprises in each other’s markets.
In a significant development, a high-level delegation of Pakistan’s top textile companies— including US Apparel, Nishat, Gul Ahmed, Sapphire, Ejaz, and others— will visit Uzbekistan in September under the leadership of APTMA. The delegation will tour industrial facilities in Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara to explore the vast potential of Uzbekistan’s textile sector.
Both countries also agreed to actively participate in upcoming international exhibitions and trade fairs with their national pavilions.
Ambassador Ali Siro Tuktayev highlighted that this progress will not only strengthen economic relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan but also help create new job opportunities and promote the “Made in Uzbekistan” brand in global markets.
