Karachi: The ICC has released the latest T20 and Test rankings.
Pakistani players have made significant progress in the T20 International rankings after their impressive performance in the recent T20 series against the West Indies.
Middle-order batsman Hassan Nawaz has improved by 24 places to 30th, Saim Ayub has improved by 25 places to 37th and Sahibzada Farhan has improved by 34 places to 63rd.
Captain Salman Ali Agha has improved by 15 places to 76th and experienced batsman Fakhar Zaman has improved by 3 places to 78th.
On the other hand, senior players Babar Azam and Muhammad Rizwan, who have not been in action in T20 Internationals since 2024, have dropped by three places to 17th and 19th positions respectively.
Wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Haris, who failed to impress during the West Indies tour, has slipped 21 places to 86th.
India’s Abhishek Sharma is at the top of the batting rankings, followed by Australia’s Travis Head and India’s Tilak Verma at the second and third positions respectively.
No Pakistani player is in the top 20 in the bowling rankings. Fast bowler Haris Rauf remains at 26th position, while Abbas Afridi has dropped three places to 27th.
Left-arm spinner Safyan Muqeem has improved his performance by 69 places to 34th.
Shaheen Shah Afridi has dropped one place to 36th and Mohammad Nawaz has moved up 51 places to 56th.
Abrar Ahmed has dropped nine places to 60th and T20 vice-captain Shadab Khan has dropped five places to 72nd.
In the bowling rankings, New Zealand’s Jacob Duffy is first, England’s Adil Rashid is second and West Indies’ Akhil Hussain is third.
In the all-rounder rankings, Saim Ayub has jumped 70 places to 24th position.
Mohammad Nawaz has improved by 13 places to 36th, while Abbas Afridi has dropped 4 places to 56th. Iftikhar Ahmed is 70th after dropping 6 places and Faheem Ashraf is 77th after moving up 5 places.
In the all-rounder category, India’s Hardik Pandya is first, Nepal’s Deependra Singh Ari is second and Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi is third.
Test rankings:
Indian fast bowlers Mohammad Siraj and Prasidh Krishna have achieved their career-best positions in the ICC Test bowling rankings after their outstanding performance in the Oval Test against England.
The man of the match in the fifth and decisive Test, Mohammad Siraj, has moved up 12 places to 15th position. On the other hand, Prasidh Krishna has moved up 25 places to 59th position, the highest position ever in the Test rankings for both bowlers.
England fast bowler Gus Atkinson has entered the top 10 list of Test bowlers for the first time, while Josh Ting has moved up 14 places to 46th.
Indian batsman Yashavi Jaiswal, who scored a century in the Oval Test, has moved up three places in the batting rankings and has entered the top 5 batsmen for the first time, with a rating of 792 points. Currently, England’s Joe Root and Harry Brook are in first and second place respectively in the Test batting rankings.
The effects of the recent series between Zimbabwe and New Zealand were also seen in the latest rankings. New Zealand batsman Daryl Mitchell has moved up four places to enter the top 10.
