The reaction of the leaders of the Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) who were convicted in the May 9 arson, siege and vandalism case by the Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has come to light.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid, a senior female leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), who is imprisoned in Kot Lakhpat Jail, reacted to the court’s 10-year sentence in the Sherpao Pul case on May 9 and said, “What freedom will he give us if he is not free himself?”
She said that I am still standing where I was two years ago today and will not back down from my goal, ideology or struggle.
Senator Ijaz Chaudhry said that we are sacrificing for the restoration of democracy and the constitution in the country and our sacrifice is for the generations to come.
Umar Sarfaraz Cheema said that we are ideological activists and we are still steadfast in our ideology. These sentences cannot harm us.
Mian Mahmood Al-Rasheed said that the founder of PTI, Haqq, stands for the truth and we are with him in this fight. The government should be aware of this move, hatred will increase further.
On the other hand, Shah Mahmood Qureshi said that he was ready to swear on the Holy Quran in court that he had no role in the May 9 incidents. He was happy to hear the news of his release in the court decision.
He said that his heart is saddened to hear about the sentences of other colleagues. Like me, other colleagues are also innocent.
