President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif congratulated the nation on the beginning of the new Islamic year 1447 Hijri and prayed that this year may prove to be the best for the country and that Kashmir and Palestine may attain freedom.
In a statement issued by the President’s Office, the President congratulated the Pakistani nation and the Muslim Ummah on the beginning of the Islamic year and prayed that this year may bring peace, prosperity and stability to the beloved homeland.
The President said that this month is one of the sacred months of the Islamic Hijri year and Allah Almighty has forbidden all kinds of chaos and fighting in the sacred month. Allah Almighty has advised us to engage in acts of goodness and service in this month.
The President said that this holy month advises us to connect our individual lives with collective consciousness. We should include qualities like justice and fairness, good behavior, sacrifice, tolerance and endurance in our lives.
He said that we have to adopt principles like unity, brotherhood and national solidarity to face our social, economic and political challenges. Muharram teaches us to follow in the footsteps of Imam Hussain (RA), while the spirit of Karbala takes us out of sectarianism, chaos and despair.
Asif Zardari said that he prays that this year brings a message of goodness, peace and progress for Pakistan. May Allah protect Pakistan from every calamity, trouble and chaos and may this year be a year of prosperity for the Islamic nation and humanity.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the holy month of Muharram reminds us of the unparalleled sacrifices of our ancestors, which they made for the sake of patience and steadfastness in the path of truth, truthfulness and promotion of high values. Especially the incident of Karbala and the martyrdom of Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA), which is in fact the victory of Islam, the exaltation of Islamic principles and the fruit of this sacrifice, thanks to which such dedicated souls were born in our history who always supported truth and truth.
He said that in today’s era, when the Muslim Ummah is facing various challenges, these events have a message for us that provides guiding principles for social harmony, interfaith tolerance, and service to humanity.
The Prime Minister said that we should make these far-reaching teachings a part of our individual and social lives, light the candle of love, brotherhood, and awareness. Come on! At the beginning of this new Hijri year, let us pledge that we will emerge as a civilized, moral, and conscious nation while keeping the traditions of our ancestors alive. We will create a pure society that is a manifestation of human welfare.
Shahbaz Sharif said that I pray to Allah Almighty to make the coming year a year of peace and stability for Pakistan and the whole world. Make it a year of stopping the ongoing oppression of defenseless Muslims in Kashmir and Palestine forever and ending the tension in the region completely.
He said that I also pray to Allah Almighty to grant us the ability to adopt the path of national unity, mutual respect, and brotherhood. I pray that the Lord makes our state and national institutions stronger, more effective, and a true model of service to the people.
The Prime Minister prayed that Allah may grant our youth expertise in knowledge and skills and high character, and may Pakistan be elevated among the nations of the world as a dignified, peaceful, and developed state. Amen, Amen.
