KHANEWAL: Drop scene of passenger bus hijacking, a fake message by bus passenger to his sister of bus hijacking caused high alert in Punjab, media, police and other agencies remained busy whole the last night to unhide the mystery . According to the details, Muhammad Tanveer s/o Muhammad Yousaf owner of Al-Saeed plaza Mughal bazaar Mian Channu was travelling to Mian Channu in a private AC coach no. 1166-LES running Faisalabad to Multan.
When the bus reached near Chichawatni, Muhammad Tanveer through his cell phone forwarded a suspicious sms to his sister that armed men were trying to force the bus to Dera Ghazi Khan,” His family informed the police and media about the message of Tanveer about hijacking to bus.
When this news was telecasted by electronic media, serious notice was taken by CM Punjab, IG Punjab, IG NH & MW police, roads and area around Khanewal were blocked after report of a bus hijacking in Dajkot was received. Security departments were also put on high alert. Police officials had also confirmed the report of hijacking initially and it was stated that the bus was being directed towards Dera Ghazi Khan. Responding to the false alarm, the law enforcement agencies spun into action and immediately dispatched search parties.
Eventually, the bus and the passengers were was found safe and sound near a small town Katch khu between Multan and Khanewal. The on police check post situated Hussaini chowk Katch Khu said bus was stopped by the Khanewal police, Gulzar, driver of the bus stated that the driver stopped the bus in Dajkot after it hit a rock.
Driver denied about any attempt of bus hijacking, police interrogated about Tanveer and arrested him from the bus. DPO Khanewal Jahanzaib Nazir, DSP Kabirwala Muhammad Ashraf, DSP Mian Mian Chanu Tahir Majeed and SHO Kohan , Noor Khan told that police has recovered Rs;-739000/- ( cash plus prize bonds) from Tanveer. Later Muhammad Tanveer was handed over to the Faisalabad police for further investigations .
