ISLAMABAD: SK Niazi, Chief Editor of Pakistani Newspaper Groups and Chairman of Roze TV, spoke on the programme “Sachi Baat.” On the COAS speech at GHQ, he stated, “The speech of the Army Chief today was very important; the words of the Army Chief should be understood by the political people.” He further stated that “I have a special relationship with General Qamar Javed Bajwa and his family.”
He has done a great job for Pakistan and supported political governments in every aspect. “The Army Chief is the guarantor of the country’s geographical borders; they play an indispensable role in internal and external affairs; and Pakistani forces supported the nation in every difficult hour,” SK Niazi replied to a question. A bill will be presented to extend the tenure of the Army Chief. SK Niazi reported that Jamaat-e-Islami is planning to present a bill that would extend the time period from three to four years rather than being extended.
Defence analyst, General ®️ Naeem Khalid Lodhi, participated in the programme “Sachi Baat” via audio beeper. He stated, “The Army Chief is appointed in accordance with the Procedure; the Army Chief belongs to the country and the institution.” He further stated, “The Army Chief’s speech was great. Political parties will have to turn a page for the country.” Responding to the question, he stated, “The country is currently facing a difficult situation. The people of Pakistan are facing numerous problems and they should think about them. Political parties should strive for the welfare of the people.”
On the appointment of COAS, he responded, “The appointment of the Army Chief will be based on sufficient merit; all senior lieutenant generals are highly qualified and competent; the new army chief will face many challenges, including a bad economic situation.” He concluded that a clear and transparent election is necessary for the improvement of the state of the country. Meanwhile, economist Shahid Hasan Siddiqui participated in the programme “Sachi Baat” via video beeper.
On the economic condition of Pakistan, he stated, “Pakistan will not default; Pakistan is facing problems, but we will get out of here; Pakistan is going through the most difficult period in history.”
He further stated, “Our politicians are talking about default; there is no such situation; talking about default damages the country’s image around the world.” Responding to a question, he stated, “There may be differences with political parties, but there should be no talk against the state. We need to understand that Pakistan is not in danger of defaulting. The problems we are facing today have never existed in such a situation in the history of Pakistan. Due to the war between Russia and Ukraine, our exports also decreased. Countries around the world are struggling, but recovery will take time. “All political parties should think about the interests of the country and try to bring reforms.”
