On Tuesday, the Islamabad High Court agreed to refer the prohibited funding issue to a larger bench. The hearing is scheduled for August 18. Acting IHC Chief Justice Aamer Farooq said during today’s session, “Let us create a larger bench to hear this matter.”
“The matter will be heard by the larger bench the day after tomorrow,” he stated. Anwar Mansoor and Faisal Chaudhary appeared on behalf of the PTI, which was determined to have received banned funds by the Election Commission of Pakistan. The party was sent with a notice demanding that it explain why the cash should not be confiscated.
“We have contested the fact-finding report of the Election Commission,” Mansoor remarked. “It was not required to disclose accounts for numerous reasons,” according to the lawyer.
