Imran Khan, the former prime minister of Pakistan, will have his support put to the test this weekend in a by-election for 20 assembly seats in the province with the highest population.
Although Khan has been actively campaigning across the nation for an earlier election since being ousted by a no-confidence vote in April, the Punjab vote on Sunday is considered as a potential harbinger for the national elections that must be held by October next year. After the electoral commission, at Khan’s request, invalidated PTI members who switched sides, twenty seats in Punjab became vacant.
Hamza Sharif, the son of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, is now in charge of the province as a result of the scheming.According to news, Khan will be able to evaluate the success of his effort to win over the public during the election.
