Another surprise for those who are experiencing inflation is that Nepra has approved a Rs7.90/unit increase in the price of electricity under the category of monthly fuel adjustment costs.
A petition requesting an increase in the price of power was being discussed by the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Monday. The monthly fuel adjustment costs category is where the increase was approved.
Nepra will release its thorough judgement later.
Consumers will pay an additional Rs113 billion as a result of the increased rise in electricity costs.
