Security forces killed two terrorists in the Datta Khel area of North Waziristan, said the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Saturday.
The military’s media wing stated that an intelligence-based operation was conducted in the area after reports of terrorist presence.
In an intense exchange of fire, the two terrorists were killed. The military identified one as Asmatullah, known by the alias Hafiz. Identification of the other terrorist is in progress.
The terrorists were wanted for activities against security forces, target killing, and kidnapping for ransom.
The ISPR added that a “huge cache of weapons and ammunition” including sub-machine guns, hand grenades, and a large number of multiple caliber rounds were seized.
Earlier this week, in another IBO, a large number of weapons, ammunition, and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) were recovered from the hideout.
“Recovered weapons and ammunition include sub-machine guns, hand grenades, RPG-7 rockets, IEDs, the material used in the preparation of IEDs, communication equipment, and hundreds of multiple caliber rounds,” ISPR had said.
