Shaheen Shah Afridi, a star pacer for Pakistan, made history on Friday by becoming the first bowler to take four wickets in a T20 match’s opening over.
In the T20 Vitality Blast on Friday, June 30, Shaheen delivered an outstanding opening over for Nottinghamshire against Warwickshire.
On the first, second, fifth, and sixth balls of the debut over, the 23-year-old fast bowler took the wickets.

Before being dismissed for playing directly into Olly Stone’s hands, Dan Mousley bowled opener Alex Davies and Chris Benjamin LBW with a yorker.
Shaheen has took four wickets in the game’s first over after bowling out Ed Barnard.
Despite only giving up 29 runs, the bowler’s team lost to Warwickshire by two wickets.
In 19.1 overs, the Bears reached the 169-run mark. Opening batsman Robert Yates scored 65 runs off of 46 balls to help his team win by two wickets.
Glenn Maxwell, Jacob Bethell, and Jake Lintott provided the closing touches, scoring 19, 27, and 27 not out, respectively.

For the 2018 Blast, Shaheen joined the Nottinghamshire Outlaws. He temporarily played for Hampshire Hawks in the tournament’s 2020 iteration. He made four deliveries in a game against Middlesex and grabbed four wickets.
