ISLAMABAD: Chairman of the United International Group Mian Shahidon Sunday said Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif has become most respected and popular personality in Pakistan due to his initiatives which will ensure rapid social and economic development across the country. Law and order situation in Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta and other areas of the country is improving while terrorists are on the run, he said.
Talking to Samina Fazil, founder President, Islamabad Women’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said that Raheel is also loved by Pakistanis working abroad which could have an effect on the volume of remittances which are necessary for country’s survival.
Mian Shahid said that war against terrorists and corrupt elements has resulted in enhanced confidence of masses and the business community in the system. He said that some enemy countries and their puppets in Pakistan are unable to digest popularity of Pakistan Army while a number of public representatives are issuing statements against Army because the rampant corruption is under serious threat.
He said that punishments awarded to military officials for corruption has gone down very well with the masses which is beginning of across the board justice.
Mian Shahid said that all the important pillars of country and society are on the same page against terrorism which is evident from the landmark judgement of the Apex court on military courts for which judiciary must be praised. Pakistan is entering into new era of prosperity for which the credit goes to the unmatched polices of Gen. Raheel Sahrif, he said.
He welcomed the extension in stay of Rangers in Karachi which will improve overall situation and economy.
