ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that our national security is directly linked to the economy, the economy was damaged due to the sit-ins, Islamabad was targeted to spread chaos in the country.

Addressing the participants of the security workshop at the National Defense University, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that first of all, congratulations to all of you that our Stock Exchange has increased by one hundred thousand points today, and this is not my or the Finance Minister’s miracle, but it is the result of the hard work of the entire team, and there are no two opinions about this.

He said that I believe that our national security is directly linked to the economy and both of them go hand in hand, now Pakistan is gradually moving in the right direction, but the economy was damaged due to the sit-ins.

The result of what was happening here in Islamabad the day before yesterday was that the Stock Exchange fell by four thousand points, but yesterday it improved and today it has increased by one hundred thousand points.

He said that Islamabad was targeted to spread chaos in the country, anti-national elements are working on an agenda of hatred against Pakistan and destabilizing Pakistan, we must protect Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said that today the country has embarked on the path of development, in the last decade all sectors in the country were in decline, in June 2023 Pakistan was on the verge of default, then we succeeded in reaching an agreement with the IMF for 37 months.

He said that to avoid default there was no option but to go to the IMF, this will bring difficult times for the people of Pakistan, but this is our last agreement with the IMF and we will not approach the IMF again.

The Prime Minister said that unfortunately terrorism is rising again, sad incidents are happening in KP and Balochistan day by day, the Pakistani army has fought terrorism bravely. We have lost 130 billion dollars in the war against terrorism.
