ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed satisfaction over the approval of a one billion dollar tranche for Pakistan by the International Monetary Fund and the failure of India’s high-handed tactics against it.
The Prime Minister paid tribute to the performance of the government’s economic team, including Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Minister for Finance and Revenue Muhammad Aurangzeb, and Secretary Finance Imdadullah Bosal, in this regard.
The Prime Minister said that by the grace of Allah, the country’s economic situation has improved and the country is moving towards development. India is making a sinister conspiracy to divert attention from our country’s development through unilateral aggression. International institutions have responsibly rejected India’s false propaganda. Indian attempts to sabotage the IMF program have failed.
The Prime Minister said that the program will help stabilize Pakistan’s economy and put it on the path of long-term recovery. The government is working on priority areas such as tax reform, improved energy sector performance, and private sector development. The improved economic indicators in the last fourteen months are a reflection of the government’s positive policies. Pakistan’s economic stability strategy is determined to be effective, efficient, and sustainable in this regard.
