This afternoon’s (Wednesday) National Security Committee (NSC) meeting will be presided over by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as many audio leaks involving senior government figures emerge.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif, Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah, and Federal Minister for Finance, according to sources with knowledge of the situation, will attend the 39th meeting of the NSC.

Additionally, tri-service chiefs and the leaders of the sensitive agencies will be present. The conference will receive a briefing on the subject of hidden audio recordings. At the meeting, the security of the prime minister’s office would be reviewed, along with Pakistan’s the economy and flood situation.

PM Shehbaz, “audio leaks” jeopardize Pakistan’s reputation

On Tuesday, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif claimed that the “audio leaks” had damaged the nation’s reputation abroad since people were reluctant to speak with him due to privacy concerns.

Audio leaks:

The most recent and second leaked recording that had circulated on social media, which is said to have included PM Shehbaz, Rana Sanaullah, Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, and others, discussed the resignations of PTI.

According to reports, PML-N leaders can be heard discussing the resignations of PTI on the recording. They are also discussing whether London will permit the resignations.

A talk about Maryam Nawaz, the vice president of the PML-N, requesting that an Indian power plant be imported for her son-in-law was discussed in a previously leaked audio that had previously gone viral on social media and was purported to be from PM Shehbaz.
