
ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised Federal Minister for Industries and Production Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood on Friday for arranging for the import of edible oil from Indonesia in a timely manner.
He said the import would assist down edible oil prices in the country during a meeting with Industries Minister Murtaza Mehmood and Secretary Imdadullah Bosal.
PM Sharif praised the Minister of Industry and Productions’ trip to Indonesia on his own dime to resolve the issue of edible oil imports.
Makhdoom Murtaza Mehmood went to Indonesia on the prime minister’s orders in order to alleviate the imminent edible oil import issue.
The efforts resulted in the delivery of 2.5 million metric tonnes from Indonesia via ten ships.
During the visit of the Industries Minister, the first shipment of edible oil was dispatched from Indonesia to Pakistan.
