ISLAMABAD: According to Ahmed Bilal Masud, deputy chief executive officer of Huawei Pakistan, there is no substitute for devotion and hard effort as seen by the success of Pakistani pupils who attend schools without walls in the international Huawei competition.
He was speaking during a ceremony honouring the winners of the sixth Huawei ICT Competition for 2021–2022, Sateesh Kumar, Bhagchand Meghwar, and Iqra Fatima.
In Shenzhen, China, for the competition’s Global Final, they were successful in defeating rivals from around the globe.
The attendees were informed that Bhagchand Meghwar is from a village in the Dadu district while Mr. Kumar is from a remote village of Tharparkar that is not even seen on maps.
Since these individuals didn’t even have walls at the schools they attended for their foundational education, Mr. Masud claimed that “nobody in Pakistan can now claim that they lack the resources, internet access at home, or there’s not enough backing to make a name for themselves in the country.”
He also claimed that the victorious team’s third player was a woman. Why not others, he asked, “since she can overcome the odds?”
While another two members had attended Mehran University Jamshoro, Ms. Fatima is from Bahawalpur and attended that university for her undergraduate studies. Huawei announces the competition every year, beginning at the local level, to inspire new college entrants and recent graduates to thrive in information technology (IT) services.
Six of the approximately 12,000 applicants in Pakistan in 2021 were chosen, and Huawei managers created two teams for Pakistan team 1 and team 2. Team 1 was captained by Sateesh Kumar and maintained its winning trend to defeat rivals in the international final. More than 2,000 universities and 150,000 optimistic students from 85 different nations and regions participated in the tournament.
