Thanksgiving Day is being celebrated across the country in recognition of the success of Operation Bunyan Marsus and the great victory against India.
On the occasion of Thanksgiving Day, a 31-gun salute was given in the federal capital and 21 in the provincial capital. Along with the federal capital, gun salutes were also given in all provincial capitals, including Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
On this occasion, the soldiers of the Pakistan Army reiterated their resolve to defend the country. The soldiers of the Pakistan Army also vowed to give a befitting reply to any aggression by the enemy.
The air of Pakistan echoed with the slogans of Takbeer, Pakistan Zindabad and Aafum Pakistan Payanda.
After Fajr prayers, Quran recitation is being held across the country, while special prayers are also being offered for the security of the country, nation and Pakistan Army.
A grand ceremony of changing of the guards was held at the Quaid-e-Azam in Karachi and the Allama Iqbal mausoleum in Lahore.
The main event of Thanksgiving Day will be held at the Pakistan Monument in Islamabad, and important figures from all schools of thought will participate in the event.
The Prime Minister will be the chief guest of the event, while the Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and the Chief of the Armed Forces will also be part of the event.
Citizens also expressed happiness over the country’s achievements. The aim of the Thanksgiving Day celebrations is to remind the nation of courage, unity and sacrifices against the enemy.
Operation Bunyan Marsus is not only a major military success, but it has also fully demonstrated Pakistan’s defense capability and national resolve.
Special events are being held in other small and big cities of the country today to mark Thanksgiving Day, while special prayers are being offered in mosques for the progress and security of the country.
