The profiteers gave a big shock of inflation to the people before Ramadan.

Even before the holy month, the prices of food items started talking to the sky. Due to the lack of checks and balances, the traders also blew up the government price list.

In Karachi, onion started selling at Rs.300, tomato at Rs.200 per kg, while the capsicum used in samosa rolls was out of reach of the public and the price went from Rs.200 per kg to Rs.700 per kg in a day.

Garlic started selling at Rs 1000, ginger at Rs 600, and green chillies at Rs 500 per kg in the markets of Karachi. Apart from this, veal meat is being sold for 1400 rupees while chicken meat is being sold for 700 rupees.
