The legendary Australian Mark Waugh has included Pakistan’s fast-rising Shaheen Shah Afridi in his top five picks for the starting eleven at the 2018 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

Waugh joined the lengthy list of previous greats in choosing the first five players they would pick in a World T20I XI as the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup approaches.

Waugh selected five players from five different teams, including those from Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, England, and Australia.

Along with Shaheen, the list also includes players from India’s Jasprit Bumrah and Afghanistan’s Rashid khan.

The Pakistani pacer, Shaheen, is a “tremendous left-arm fast bowler,” according to Waugh, who shared his opinions on him. Shaheen will be utilized to open bowling at the opposite end.

He claimed that the squad looks on Shaheen, a wicket-taker, for leadership.

He has a left arm, so that’s another distinction. He’s quick as well and can swing the ball back into the right-hander, so I’ve placed him at number two, Waugh remarked.

Shaheen, a top pacer who is presently receiving treatment in London for a knee ailment, has begun bowling as he nears full recovery.

The young player updated his supporters on the status of his recuperation as they anxiously await to see him back on the field by sharing a video from a practice session in London.

He captioned the video with the phrase “Your prosperity belongs to Allah, not your thinking.”
