Imran Riaz Khan, a well-known anchor, was given relief on Thursday when a case against him was dropped and the police were told to release him if he wasn’t needed in another case.
Imran Riaz Khan was produced before the court by the Punjab Police, who requested the following three remand. He was taken by the police when he arrived at the federal capital from the Islamabad Toll Plaza before a hearing in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) for an extension of bail.
Judicial Magistrate Attock Yasir Tanveer withheld the verdict after hearing the case till three in the morning; it was then made public.
The accused Imran Riaz Khan is hereby discharged from this case, the judge wrote in an eight-page order. “…The order stated that, “having regard to the aforementioned circumstances of the case and guidance from the aforementioned case laws, the case at hand at this time is not one of sufficient evidence that also helps connect the alleged Imran Riaz with both the commission of an offense as encapsulated in the crime report.”
