Patriot Web Desk: The seventh season of HBO’s widely watched series Game of Thrones has raced through with the seventh and final episode coming out on next Sunday (unless there is a leak, and there have been many).
The earlier seasons of the series all had ten episodes but season 7 was curtailed to just 7 episodes and if rumours are to be believes the final season of the series will be further reduced to just 6 episodes.
Fans of the series have already complained that in the season 7 HBO has rushed the episodes and it has left many plot holes and has reduced the strength of the series’ story.
As far the final season of Game of Thrones that is season 8 is concerned, as first revealed by Jaime Lannister actor Nikolaj Coster-Waldau in an interview the filming for the final season will begin in October this year.
Taking into account the shooting and post production time the final season despite just 6 episodes won’t be ready before August next year. That will leave HBO will two options to either air the series sometime in September next year or hold it till 2019 (which knowing HBO isn’t impossible) for a more anticipated debut.
