ISLAMABAD: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) formed a five-member team on Friday to oversee the inquiry teams from each of the agency’s regions looking into the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) “prohibited” funding issue and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) ruling.
According to a notification from the director of the FIA’s economic crime wing, the FIA monitoring team, led by Mohammad Athar Waheed, would be in charge of coordinating with and advising the appropriate inquiry teams in each zone.
The investigation is being carried out in accordance with the FIA notification and Section 6 of the Political Parties Order, 2002. The group entrusted with overseeing the continuing inquiries into PTI’s funding matter would include Chaudhary Ijaz Ahmed, Chaudhary Ijaz Ahmed, Assistant Director Ijaz Ahmed Sheikh, Additional Director Khalid Anees, and Deputy Director Khawaja Hammad of the FIA.
