ECP takes charge of NA following conduction of Senate polls

The delegate comprising several major officials of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) visited Parliament House, regulating the charge of the National Assembly hall on Tuesday.

Ensuring all pre-poll precautionary measures to be conveyed properly, the ECP officials installed all electoral booths and material in the National Assembly (NA) affirming the transparent and fair conduction of Senate elections 2021.

Moreover, the National Assembly on Wednesday will elect two senators in the General and Women quota for Islamabad while the polling in the assembly will begin at 9:00 AM and continue till 5:00 PM.

It is significant to be highlighted that 341 legislators of the NA will participate in voting for Senate polls tomorrow.

An interesting contest in the Senate poll being held between Abdul Hafeez Shaikh, the candidate of the ruling PTI and its coalition partners, and Pakistan People’s Party’s candidate Yousaf Raza Gillani, who is also being supported by the PML-N and other PDM component parties.

Moreover, Regional Election Commissioner Karachi Syed Nadeem Haider reached Sindh Assembly today for preparation of the Senate poll in Sindh.

Sindh assembly hall will be observed as a polling station for the Senate polls tomorrow.

Furthermore, the total number of 37 senators will be selected via elections in the Senate on Wednesday as 11 senators in Punjab got elected autonomously including five seats each to the PTI and PML-N and one seat to the PML-Q.

The polls will be conducted to fill 11 seats in Sindh, 12 seats each in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan and two senate seats in Islamabad.
