LONDON: England seamer James Anderson thinks his team now only knows one way to play and will not alter from their attacking style of cricket even if they are under pressure in the three-Test series against South Africa, which begins on Wednesday at Lord’s.
This summer, new coach Brendon McCullum and captain Ben Stokes have choreographed four exciting Test victories in a row, each time chasing over 275 in the fourth innings.
Those victories over New Zealand and India have come as a result of their new Bazball style of continuously attacking with bat and ball, even when the team appears to be in difficulty. The turnaround comes after England had only won one of their previous 17 Tests prior to the new leadership group taking control.
“Right now, Ben and Brendon have a vision of how they want us to play cricket, so we’re getting into that and attempting to play our way, and we’re absolutely loving it,” Anderson told reporters on Monday.
