ISLAMABAD: Following the recent pre-monsoon rains, the country’s water supply situation has begun to improve, as evidenced by the increasing flow of rivers.
A WAPDA representative provided information about Pakistan’s reservoirs, demonstrating an improvement in the inflows.
The speaker stated that 86,500 cusecs of water entered Tarbela Dam and 85,700 cusecs left. Mangla experienced an inflow of 64,200 cusecs and an outflow of 29,600 cusecs.
According to the spokesman, Chashma had an intake of 136,800 cubic meters and an exhaust of 145,600 cusecs. He further stated that at Head Marala, the Chenab River has an inflow of 74,900 cusecs and an outflow of 65,000 cusecs.
The statement added that the outflow rates for the Kabul River at Nowshera were both 33,300 cusecs.
The official had stated on Tuesday that Tarbela Dam had 28,000 acres feet of water storage.
He has also mentioned that Chashma and the Mangla Dam could each hold 14,000 and 134,000 acres feet of water, respectively.
