India reported 17,336 new coronavirus infections each day, according to the health ministry on Friday. This is the greatest daily increase since February 20.
Maharashtra, the wealthiest state in India, reported more than 5,200 new illnesses on Wednesday, 2,479 of which originated in Mumbai, the nation’s financial center.
The number of illnesses reported on Friday increased by more than 4,000 from the amount reported on Thursday, which was 13,313. Daily infections in India have been increasing over the previous month.
According to the ministry, there have already been 524,954 fatalities as a result of COVID-19, an increase of 13.
