Khattak for ensure adequate quantity and quality of food items

PESHAWAR (INP): Khyber Pakhtoonkhwa Chief Minister Pervez Khattak has asked all Divisional Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners to perform their administrative responsibilities with full devotion and warned of taking stern notice if complaints were made regarding quality of food, supply & demand, adulteration, hoarding, price-hike, encroachments, sanitation and absence of patwaris from offices.

Presiding over a high-level meeting of Commissioners and Deputy Commissioners here in CM Secretariat, the Chief Minister directed every administration for submission of performance reports on daily basis to him and Chief Secretary. Similarly, he said the implementation of the directives of the Chief Minister and CM Complaints’ Cell should be guaranteed with sincerity to enable the people to feel change in this respect.

Those who attended the meeting included Provincial Minister for Food Qalandar Khan Lodhi, Chief Secretary Amjad Ali Khan, Senior Member Board of Revenue (SMBR) Waqar Ayub, Chairman CM Complaints’ Cell Alhaj Dilroze Khan, Principal Secretary to CM Mohammad Ishfaq Khan and other authorities concerned.

The meeting reviewed in detail the performance of local administration across the province and progress regarding public complaints and took several important decisions in this regard. The meeting in wake of the absence of patwaris from their circles during office hours, violating rule of business, corrupt attitude with applicants and receipt of certain complaints of bribes in transfer deeds decided that the procedure of transfers’ deeds would be made more transparent and effective. He said that in case of solid proofs against patwaris of any district, disciplinary action would be taken against the concerned administrative officers. The meeting also decided the utilization of different means for monitoring the availability of edibles in all markets across the province, ensuring quality of medicines, demand & supply, sanitation and encroachments clearance.

The chief minister directed the divisional and district administration for organizing open katcheries timely and again to identify core public issues and bring improvement in the performance as well as redress the public complaints in best possible manner. He further directed the administrative officers for performing their duties without any pressure and maintain the highest standard of discipline. He said that non-cooperative officers should be reported with immediate effect and bring everything in his notice to run the affairs of the government in better manner and restore confidence of the people in institutions.

On this occasion, the divisional and district administrative officers informed the Chief Minister of some problems faced by them wherein the later issued immediate and suitable action.
