Youth killed, POs among 39 arrested: arms, drugs seized

KOHAT, Sept 30 (NNI): Unknown armed men shot dead a youth. The police arrested 39 outlaws including proclaimed offenders and Afghan nationals during search operations in different areas of Kohat on Tuesday and recovered arms and drugs from their possession.

A youth identified as Faheem was killed in firing incident in Muhammad Riaz Shaheed police station jurisdiction.

Heavy contingent of police belonging to different police stations conducted search operation and conducted raids in various areas of Kohat during which 39 persons including 13 illegal Afghan immigrants and four proclaimed offenders were arrested.

Police recovered 35 mobile phones, mobile cards worth Rs1,75,000, dozen of memory cards, pistols, other weapons, hundreds of rounds, several bottles of branded beer, 3.5 kg hashish and other valuables from the possession of detainees.

Some of the detainees were identified as POs Mushtaq, Irshad, Imshad, Sumandar Khan, Afghan nationals Ehtibar Gul, Lahore Khan, Haji Gul, Azar Gul, Muhammad Noor, Hamza, Masoodur Rehman, Islam, Abdul Hadi, Gul Laik, Muhammad Umair, Muhammad Yaseem, Rafiullah and criminals Awais, Jamshed, Muhammad Tanveer, Irfanul Haq, Muhammad Irfan.

Unknown robbers looted one tola of gold ornaments and Rs75000 cash from a residence in Darawal Banda area of Kohat.

Police have registered separate cases in all incidents at concerned police stations and started investigation.
