ISLAMABAD: Millions of Afghan nationals who flooded towards Pakistan during Soviet war in 1980 have hit 1.5 million in numbers from last 36 years.
According to United Nations High Commission for Refugees, the number of Afghans living in Pakistan for 36 years is more than 1.5 million and they are still unable to go back to their home country, reported a private news channel.
However, the Afghans residents are of the view that they have been living in Pakistan for so many years and have permanently settled their businesses and houses here.
They said that they have whole heartedly accepted Pakistan as their own country.
Meanwhile, Federal government has decided to use the services and facilities made available by the international community through the UNHCR, to send the refugees back to Afghanistan.
