Pakistan’s security forces have foiled an infiltration bid by Afghanistan into the country, killing 17 more Khawarij.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), 54 Khawarij were killed in successful operations by security forces in North Waziristan District (NWD) between April 25 and 27.

The ISPR said that in continuation of these operations, a systematic clearance operation was carried out in Hassan Khel, North Waziristan and areas near the Pakistan-Afghanistan border on the intervening night of April 27 and 28. During the operation, 17 more Khawarij were neutralized.

According to the Pakistan Army spokesperson, these Khawarij were active on the instructions of foreign masters, they were successfully carried out, and a large quantity of arms, ammunition and explosive materials were also recovered from the slain.

The statement said that after the latest operation, the total number of Khawarij killed in the 3-day counter-terrorism operation has reached 71.

According to the ISPR, the security forces are determined to protect the borders of the motherland and thwart every attempt to sabotage peace, stability, and development in Pakistan.
