ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif directed Interior Minister Chaudhary Nisar Ali Khan in a meeting held between the two on Friday to send a team to India to perform a security check for the safety of the players prior to the start of the T20 World Cup.

The security situation in India and the team’s participation in the mega event were matters brought under discussion between the PM and the Interior Minister. PM advised Chaudhary Nisar to send the cricket team to India after the approval from the security team.

PM also expressed his discontentment over the team’s below par performance in the Asia Cup and demanded a report from Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) upon the matter. NNI
