Only one news item has stirred so many questions. News item reveals that “PPP Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari was acquitted on Saturday by an accountability court in Rawalpindi in what was the final corruption reference still pending against him.
The case against the former president was based on a reference filed by the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) during former president Pervez Musharraf’s era for allegedly acquiring assets through illegal means in Pakistan and abroad.”
Bakhtawar Zardari’s tweet comes here to add more to the pleasure , if something was left. It states: “While IK and NS hide from NAB, my father Asif Ali Zardari’s last pending case has just been acquitted . Faced 11+ years without a single conviction.
Now the questions:
If there is a strict procedure to investigate Nawaz Sharif , shouldn’t the same be applied in Zardari case?
Can we have another JIT in Zardari case?
How would PMLN react to this?
To what extent NAB is working as per the law?
How far the NAB is effective when the accused belongs to the ruling elite?
Do we need to revisit the mechanism of the appointment of chairman NAB?
Is there any hope to place ruling elite in the dock?
If the documents are lost, who was responsible?
Will the person responsible for this act be placed in the dock?
These are just few sample questions. There are many more.
