Former President Asif Ali Zardari vowed on Thursday to improve the Pakistan People’s Party’s (PPP) standing in Punjab.
The co-chairman told a PPP workers’ convention at Bilawal House in Lahore that party leaders and workers have a long history of struggle in Punjab.
“I’m going to Punjab now to do politics,” he said. “I will strengthen the party in collaboration with the workers.”
He also stated that the new provincial government will strive to meet the expectations of party members.
Giving participants a glimpse into his political thinking, the former president stated that in the current domestic and international environment, they must choose dialogue. “During a conversation, one must make correct decisions based on the reaction of the person in front of them,” he continued.
The meeting also heard from Rana Farooq Saeed, Samina Khalid Ghurki, Aslam Gul, Shahid Abbas, Ahmad Raza, and Israr Butt. Shahzad Saeed Cheema, Haji Azizur Rehman Chan, Faisal Mir, Jamil Manj, and Afnan Butt were also present.
