Forget Altaf, focus on flood relief, Bilawal to party

Says he pushes Bilawal’s buttons to get the job done

KARACHI( INP): Strictly directing them to zoom in on the relief work in the areas devastated by the super-floods, ChairpersonPPP, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Wednesday night forbade his party lawmakers from wasting their energies in countering Muttahida Qaumi Movement leader, Altaf Hussain’s assault on his character.

“You should not be distracted by the provocative statements and focus 100% on the relief and rescue operations in the aftermath of flooding in the province”, a message posted on Bilawal’s Twitter handle quoted him as saying.

Earlier, in the middle of a long-winded tele-address to his workers Wednesday night, the MQM leader talked down to Bilawal after the young party leader, reacting to Hussain’s demand for new provinces, had tweeted: ‘Marsoon Marsoon Sindh Na Ddaisoon (We will die fighting but never surrender Sindh).’

The original ‘war chant’ “Marvesoon , Par Sindh na Desoo (“We will die but not give Sindh –to others)” was sloganeered by Talpurs in the Battle of Miani against the colonial era British army. Hoshu Sheedi, the valiant commander of Talpurs army, immortalized this slogan before his death in the Battleground of Dubbo.

The MQM leader, who is said to be the lord of realpolitik, jocularly advised Bilawal not to say things that were too big for him.

“Son (Bilawal), you have no idea what new ‘administrative units’ mean to Pakistan because you were educated in Britain. You are too young to poke your nose into these matters. Let me talk to your dad (Asif Ali Zardari). Go get him out (here)”, said he treating the PPP’s inexperienced but up-and-coming leader like a child.

The MQM supremo also blackguarded Bilawal’s father Asif Ali Zardari, the former president of Pakistan.

“In fact Bilawal mostly speaks his father’s language as when Zardari doesn’t have the courage to speak for himself he pushes Bilawal’s buttons to get the job done”, said Hussain.

Condemnations started pouring in from the party leadership after Hussain’s relentless tirade against the rookie PPP leader, who, owing to his too many political tweets, has earned himself the title of ‘politweetion.’
