In only practice match before the WT20, Pakistan performed well to set-up 15-run victory over Sri Lanka. This victory was crucial to boost up moral of the team which was affected by severe criticism after their dismal performance in Asia cup in last month.
In the practice match against Sri Lanka, Pakistan overall played well. From many positives one was clicking the batting. Top order of our team was not contributing recently which was causing the batting fiasco to put decent score on the board to give a chance to bowling department to defend. Out of form Mohammad Hafeez played a decent innings of 70 not out from 49 balls, which helped team to put decent target of 157. We know that our bowling department has the ability to restrict any team of the world under 150; all they need is support from their batting unit to perform their responsibilities.
Another positive point from the match was bowling performance of Immad Wasim who claiming 4 for 25 to restrict Sri Lanka to chase the target. Prior to this match, Pakistan was struggling to find the fifth reliable bowler to strength bowling unit. Immad Wasim was off color in Pakistan Super League which forced team management to try Muhammad Nawaz but he too could not perform as per expectations.
Possibly its best selection Pakistan made out of all available players and now we all should support our team. From today main round of WT20 is set to kick off from match between India and New Zeeland, Pakistan would play its first match tomorrow against Bangladesh. We hope our team play like corner tigers the way they played in 1992 and 2009 to bring world cup glory to Pakistan.
Winning World Cup is dream of every Pakistani and we must hope that this dream comes true.
