Women’s cricketers win SL’s first medal at Asian Games

Sri Lanka Women’s cricket team won the Bronze medal after beating China by five wickets in the T20 match of the Asian Games in Incheon, South Korea yesterday. They thus recorded the first medal-winning performance by Sri Lanka at this edition of the Asiad.

Chinese women, after winning the toss, scored a mere 65 for six in their allotted 20 overs. The Lankans were home in the 18th over for a loss of five wickets.
