Woman among two injured in acid attack

BUREWALA (INP): Two including a woman were injured in acid attack over personal grudge here late Thursday night. Accused managed to flee.

 

Police said that accused Muhammad Fiaz along with his cohort Sajid Shah hailing from Chak No 461-EB of Burewala chased and hurdled acid at Shamim Akhtar in Chak 447-EB, while she was returning home after visiting her in-laws along with a relative Anwar-ul-Haq on motorcycle.

 

As a result of acid attack both were scorched and fell down on the ground.

 

The injured were rushed to Tehsil Headquarters (THQ) Hospital, Burewala for treatment.

 

Shamim Akhter said that her husband is staying in Dubai to earn livelihood for the family and the accused was pressurizing her since long to establish illicit relations with him and upon refusal he threw acid at her.

 

Police have registered a case against the accused who managed to escape from the scene after committing the crime, under terror act and started raids for their arrest.
