DOHA: FIFA announced the hotels and training facilities for the 32 national teams on Tuesday, stating that three-quarters of the participants at the World Cup championships in Qatar will be located nearby.
In contrast to past tournaments, all teams will remain in the same hotel and train at the same location during the competition. Their practices will even be held at their camps the day before games, rather than at the stadiums.According to FIFA, 24 of the 32 teams are located within a short drive of one another near Doha, the country’s capital.
According to Colin Smith, FIFA’s Chief Operating Officer World Cup, “players will have more time to train and rest during the competing, while being able to observe the joy that will take over the country at much closer quarters. Fellow players and passionate fans from all 32 countries will be gathering in a single area.”
