ISLAMABAD: Hussain Nawaz Saturday said Sharif family has not only faced judicial accountability prior to this case, but administrative one as well, and will keep on presenting itself until the truth comes out.
He was talking to media after appearing for the fourth time before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing the Panama Papers case at the Federal Judicial Academy in Islamabad.
He said, “The Prime Minister believes in the rule of law and also taught us to respect the judiciary and abide by the law of the country. My father even put his life in danger for the rule of law.”
Hussain Nawaz added that he answered all the questions that JIT asked him, and the investigation team can now tell whether it is satisfied or not. He said, “Only allegations have been made against his family till date, but no one could provide any evidence.”
He remarked that, “If there were any proofs against them, they would have come out during the reign of General Pervez Musharraf.” He also claimed that his assets have not increased afterwards.
Hussain Nawaz told that he will appear before JIT whenever he is asked to do so, and said those who think Sharif family will run away from accountability will be ashamed. He also said, “PM Nawaz has not been summoned yet by the JIT.” NNI
