ISLAMABAD: Jamaat Islami chief Sirajul Haq said on Wednesday that the decision to participate in the long march will be made after August10.
Sirajul Haq was addressing the media after an hour-long meeting with Imran Khan at his residence in Bani Gala in Islamabad. He said that his effort is to keep Pakistan from becoming a spectacle and to see the country progress.
He said that his party has reservations over the election commission, adding that he doesn’t recognize the election as transparent. Jamaat chief said he is against the election rigging, adding that the election commission should be fully authorized. He said there should be an election commission that is accepted to everyone, adding that the election has become a trade these days. Sirajul Haq said that capitalists end up in assemblies after all the elections.
He further said that he feels sorry that no developments have been made on Imran Khan’s demand of voters’ verification. JI chief said that the government is taking the matter lightly which could further complicate the things. He said the government still has time to realize the nature of crisis and to try to deal with it. Sirajul Haq reiterated that the responsibility of country’s circumstances falls on the federal government, adding that some people want clash in the country. He said the Prime Minister should take measures about which everyone could feel confident. JI chief said that he fully supports Imran Khan’s demand of transparent elections, adding that the decision whether or not to participate in PTI’s long march will be taken after August 10.INP
