ISLAMABAD: A strong westerly weather system likely to approach the country through Balochistan on Friday would cause widespread rains and snowfall over the hills during the weekend.
According to Met office, under the influence of this system, widespread rains associated with isolated thunderstorms are expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir and Sindh from Friday to Monday.
Widespread rain with isolated thunderstorm is likely in Punjab including Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Faisalabad, Sargodha and Sahiwal divisions.
Scattered places in Balochistan including Quetta, Zhob and Kallat divisions, South Punjab including Multan, Bahawalpur and D.G.Khan divisions and upper Sindh including Sukkar, Larkana divisions would also receive widespread rain.
The system may produce scattered thunderstorm with isolated heavyfalls in Malakand, Hazara, Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir during Friday to Sunday.
Murree, Gallyat, Malakand division, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir may also receive good snowfall during the period. The rain fed areas of wheat crop are also expected to receive scattered rain during the period. DNA
