Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif during his address at the United Nations General Assembly session perfectly presented the case of Kashmir in front of the world community. The Prime Minister not only highlighted Indian atrocities in Occupied Kashmir and made it clear to the world community that the freedom struggle in Occupied Kashmir cannot be quelled by use of force. The Prime Minister also made it clear to the world community that Pakistan wants nothing but peace and that is only possible once a solution has been found to the Kashmir issue.
Highlighting the Indian brutalities against innocent Kashmiris the Prime Minister said that over a hundred Kashmiris have been killed, hundreds, including children and infants, blinded by shotgun pellets and over six thousand unarmed civilians injured over the past two months.
After his address the Prime Minister handed over a dossier containing details of Indian atrocities against civilians in India-held Kashmir to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and briefed him on gross human rights violations being committed in the region by Indian forces.
Over the past few days the Pakistani delegation has highlighted the Kashmir issue at the international level with full force and the world has taken note of Pakistan’s principled stance for which the Prime Minister and the entire delegation deserves plaudits. However, the Indian propaganda machine is also in full swing against Pakistan and the old enemy is doing everything in its capacity to harm the image of Pakistan. Our foreign office and all lawmakers, from the ruling party and the opposition must continue highlighting the issue at international stage and thwart the increasing anti-Pakistan propaganda from India.
We should continue to forcefully counter the increasing anti-Pakistan propaganda by India.
