Says came to Karachi to unite divided nation
Sindhis being cheated in name of Bhutto: Khan
KARACHI: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday maintained that his movement would continue unless Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif stepped down.
Addressing tens of thousands of supporters, Khan said he came to Karachi to unite the divided nation. “Hate was spread by dividing the people. Today oppressors are united while people stand divided,” he said. “We have to make a nation, which came into existence due to struggle of Quaid-e-Azam.”
“It is our fundamental right that we elect our leader through votes. It is the first right of an independent nation.” The PTI chief lamented that all elections, except 1970, were heavily rigged. “You have been deprived of your fundamental right to vote,” he stressed. God willing, we will make a naya Pakistan. We will make a Pakistan for which we all dreamt.”
Khan said that time would come when people would make queues outside Pakistani embassies to obtain visa for Pakistan. He narrated that his party would empower youth to turn Pakistan into a thriving country.
Khan pledged that PTI, if came into power, would launch accountability of the current rulers. “There is law of jungle in Pakistan. We will enforce real laws.” He lashed out at JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for uttering abusive remarks against Pakistani women. “Neither I nor Pakistani women will forgive Maulana Fazlur Rehman,” he said.
The promises I made would be met only with the help of people, Khan said. The PTI chief said that local government elections would be held across Pakistan.
“Mr. Nawaz Sharif, you will have to go. Nawaz Sharif has been taking turns for 30 years,” he said.
“We will end dynastic politics. My sons will never come in politics.” Khan said. PTI is not a party of wealthy people or feudalists.
He called upon Sindhi brethrens to embrace the PTI, saying that they were being cheated in the name of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto for too long.
He lamented that all elections, except 1970, were heavily rigged. “You have been deprived of your fundamental right to vote,” he stressed. God willing, we will make a naya Pakistan. We will make a Pakistan for which we all dreamt.”
