KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s (MQM) nominated mayor, Waseem Akhtar on Friday offered, PPP. Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) to solve people’s issues together.
While talking to the media at the airport after returning from London, party’s senior deputy convener Farooq Sattar and Waseem Akhtar agreed that tussle among political parties would not lead to solutions to people’s issues.
Wasim Akhtar said that MQM’s win is a win for every political party. The party invites PTI and JI to help better the situation in Karachi, he added.
Farooq Sattar said that the people who endorse democracy’s supremacy should give authority to the local government representatives. Political parties real strength is unity, he added.
While talking about Rangers’ issue, he said that the party would side with democracy in case the issue hinders people’s rule in the country.
The mayoral candidate for Karachi said that he needs to struggle to get budget and necessary funds to solve locals’ issues. He urged the Chief Justice (CJ) of Pakistan Anwar Zaheer Jamali to take action under Article 140 A of the Constitution and transfer powers to the grass-roots.
