Rawalpindi: Vice president of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board Raja Jehandad Khan has vowed to take up the issues of the rampant commercial activity being carried out in the residential areas of Rawalpindi Cantonment. Talking exclusively to Daily The Patriot Raja Jehandad said that it has been brought to his notice that a road has been built to accommodate certain influential people who are running businesses in the residential areas of Westridge I in complete violation of the MEO lease agreement. Under the MEO lease agreement no commercial activity can take place in residential areas. He said that an inquiry must be conducted to test the allegations of use of sub-standard material in the construction of the above mentioned road. He added that he is aware of the fact that the severe violation of law has made life miserable for the residents of the Rawalpindi Cantonment. He said that as the Vice President of the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board he will take up the issue and make sure that these issues are sorted out as soon as possible. He said no activity will be allowed against rules and regulations.
